All hail the new Asian champions – IRAQ!!!

Yes, this very own war-torn country filled with turmoil has clinched the Asian Cup against all odds. I am proud to see soccer being the sport that binds the Iraqis together, diverting all the tension that’s occurring back in their homeland.

In the Iraq team, there’s no such thing as Kurds, Sunnis or Shiites. They are all Iraqis. The same goes to the fans in the stadium. They all cheer, encourage and shout for their very own country, not their respective groups. It puts a smile on my face to see them hugging each other as goals are scored… and now that the trophy is theirs.

But what marred all these sweet victories is the insensible wrongdoings of terrorists back in Iraq.

27 people died in two suicide blasts when Iraq won against Vietnam in the quarter-finals.
50 died as Iraq clinched its spot in the finals with a victory over South Korea. Once again, through suicide bombings.

Now that Iraq have won the Asian Cup, how many more innocent deaths will there be? I doubt the Iraqis back at home will stay away from the streets and celebrate. Yet at the back of mind, they know that in the midst of their joy, they might be near a suicide bomber and die a horrible death.

FUCK YOU TERRORISTS! You and your lame ideas of jihad, upholding Islam and whatnots. You do so by getting innocent people to kill other innocent lives?

If you think you can rule the world by killing people, go watch the cartoon ‘The Pinky and the Brain’.
If you think it is nice to see limbs fly, go detonate a suicide bomber beside you and see YOUR very own limbs fly.

Islam doesn’t encourage the killing of innocents.

    the pinky & the brain/yes pinky & the brain/one is a genius/the other’s insane/they are labratory mice.. cant rmb alr ):

people like the extremists carrying out jihads in the name of god but for the wrong purposes are simply misleading. in fact, if they have to kill, they should their own selves for shaming god & islam.

gahh. you should see the response to the last video of season 2 ummahfilms.blogspot.com; there, you’ll see a myriad of replies, some leaving you pleased, others NUMBED.

whatever it is, it is not up to us to take upon others worldly punishments, they will be judged fairly on judgement day. Allahuakbar.

  2. yeah i actually watched that particular ummahfilms episode. I didn’t know that guy is a convert! or rather wasn’t Islam by birth! it didn’t really brought me to tears but I must say it’s refreshing to hear from someone else’s perspective. it was so deep and mind-provoking.

and you last sentence is soooo true. :)

i blogged about something similar to what you mentioned about Iraq’s triumph in the AFC.
(They’re brilliant, btw. go younes mahmoud!)
the reality of life there is just so sad.
my heart really goes out to the innocents.
for example, there they are going further and further into the tournament, and then back home, they’re losing a stepmother here, an old friend there. tsk, tsk.

btw, you said something about not knowing my identity.
hahah. i just walked right past you the other day in fc3!

  4. YA! I kept imagining that every goal that they scored will mean one bomb going off. Sadistic I know but I think their reality is even harsher.

WHOA pC! you’re freaking me out! haha… are you stalking me, hmmm?
