Better than victory
Day 2 of CNY and Sentosa was the plan. It was supposed to be the 4 of us but eventually only 3 was there. The 3 guys that is…
There were 5 girls later on but let’s just say it’s a little friendship that was forged within a day. We were total strangers at first but somehow we spend the whole day and made our separate ways back, together. I know… don’t mind the irony there.
The queue to Sentosa snaked till like never before, be it by bus or the Sentosa Express. Express my foot ah! I go in by foot even faster. And so we did. But of course, not before those 5 girls butted in the midst of the queue and asked, “Can you help us buy the tickets?”
Man mark or zonal? Haha! Doesn’t matter what marking system we use, the rain brought us into the sheltered area despite being at 2 different spots. Then we realised the importance of having a mat (not the human form). Damn we didn’t have one.
But the girls were kind enough to lend us one. Perhaps to return the favour that we did for them earlier on.
And so the downpour became a drizzle and everyone came out to play. Everyone. So much so that we had to search high and low for the ‘toilets’ that has horizontal stripes across it and was specially designed by Ripcurl. =p
“Kalau ada jodoh, akan diketemukan lagi.” WAHAHAHAHA!!! We just said it and it seemed as if God heard us immediately, out of the millions number of requests He has to tend to at that very second.
Soon 3 became 8 and the names Ain, Marissa, Hana, Fatimah and Shikin were registered into our memory bank.
They suggested to play soccer first and boy were we given a rude awakening. Haikal got tricked twice by the girls! Or is it just one girl? Then a game of captain’s ball were of no surprise to as they dominated throughout. Can’t expect too little from netball girls can we?
Haikal’s inability to bluff his way through in Bullshit, Ain’s ‘STOP, STOP’ moment, the PJ incidents here and there pretty much filled up our time till we headed back to Vivocity together to have dinner at Burger King. Well, not exactly at BK ’cause it was full to the brim. So we went to the rooftop area instead.
I pitied Ligament ’cause she can’t walk fast enough to catch up with us at many times but the myth that ‘Hantu Gigi’ made Sentosa haunted at night never fails to crack me up till my stomach hurts. Heheheh!
Dinner really winded us all down. I was already stoning after being so full but the little chats kept me awake. It was such an honour for the guys to be commented that we are like the East guys ’cause West guys are such showboats and everything that’s not nice. The 5 girls aren’t bitchy and whatnots like those in the West but then again maybe that mode wasn’t switched on yet.
But they sure are direct in what they say! I don’t wanna generalise that and I don’t know if that’s good or bad either! We’ve just met and they are already asking questions like “What do you look out for in a girl?” WHOA! Really WHOA!
We met Darwish before making our way back and that adorable, little pumpkin really rounded off our day well. I feel like pinching his dumpling-like cheeks all day long. ATTN: Geram mode ON
High-fives were exchanged as we had to go seperate ways. Most of the girls stay in the East while the guys are mainly breathing in the Northern air. But it was sure great to have met those people. It was so unexpected, pretty much a pleasant surprise. Not being minahs certainly helped us in more ways than one in getting us ‘clicked’ with them.
Wow… all it took was just a day and so many things happened. I never thought this was possible till this moment.
So, till we all meet again. I left nothing at Sentosa that day except good memories and maybe my footprints which have been washed by the shore. I guess those in the photos understand the whole picture better than others.
And it all started with a trip to the chicken rice stall. =)
