Crash those JC orientations!
So this being the first week of school/work/of the year, I’m sure many many things happened throughout. I was down with a stomach flu and that’s… so much for a “Happy New Year!”
My sister will be sitting for her PSLE and she’s stil prancing around in school. She has a tendency to go home late now. In other words, she’s starting to know what lepak is all about.
Her way to lepak is “to sit in the library, just talk-talk lor and go home at 530pm.” We’ve all been there, done that. But now as I sat in the throne of a elder person, I can certainly feel the constant worries which my Mum must have felt about me previously.
She can do whatever she wants (legally of course) but I just have one main aim as she grows up – not to let her be a minah.
Coming from a polytechnic background, and worse still in the midst of ITP, I nearly forgot the “first-3-months” Junior College (JC) people. They should be running around either all over the island or their own schools playing games and cheering each other up right?
What a stark contrast it is right after this orientation period.

Looking back at 2007
So are you guys clear now that I can cook? Good.
But seriously why my update wasn’t as regular as before (this is a joke! I have never been updating regularly!) was partly due to work. No, not my internship although it pretty much eats up my day. But rather, other works that I currently have my hands full on.
Maybe you’ll get to see my work soon…
Anyway, the past few weeks have been pretty nice eh? For 3 consecutive weeks, there’s a public holiday somewhere in them. And come next Tuesday, it’ll be New Year! Shucks! So fast?!?
I can forsee that 2008 is gonna be quite an eventful year for 2 reasons already…
- I will officially graduate from Singapore Polytechnic
- I will be enlisted for National Service
And that itself calls for a national mourning.
Now as 2007 comes to a close, let’s take a look at my “Top 10 things that rocked MY 2007”.
That’s what people always do everytime the year comes to an end and you wanna recall what had happened so you record down every inch of details yadayadayada… right?
Oh I forgot… the list, in no particular order:
10) Victoria Beckham’s Bob-turned-Pob look

Fitree can cook, so can you?
So the weather was so freaking hot yesterday. Aptly enough, I went to have a haircut in fear that my bushy hair will catch a (bush) fire. And as if the weather wasn’t cooperative enough, the air-con in the salon was down! But thankfully enough, they had fans.
You know how reliant some places are on air-con? So much so that when they’re down, they make it seem as if fans haven’t been invented yet? Grr.
The initial plan after that was to hit town but it was nearing 5pm already so I accompanied Babe back to her crib instead. Btw, while walking home, we stumbled upon a huge teddy bear in the middle of the road. We guessed it must have dropped off some vehicle (no, not santa’s flying sleigh). I went to pick it up and Babe suggested to put it near one of the many trees along the road. I thought it would look creepy so I placed it at the doorstep of a childcare centre instead.
I mean, I thought that was the most logical thing to do. I’d rather give it off so that it can be useful rather than put it aside. And I can’t possible identify which car it dropped from either.

Vietnam Idol gets my vote!

Vietnam Idol, Phuong Vy, is so freaking hot!!!
She looks like a girl-next-door, her features stands out as much as her figure and confidence on stage came so naturally for her.
Don’t blame me for saying this. I watched Asian Idol for the first time today on Channel 5 and I can’t help it but to have my eyes glued to her the TV! I didn’t really watch the ‘live’ telecast of Asian Idol ’cause I had better things to do with my PC.
But today, I was kinda forced to watch it ’cause my family members, cousins and were all over at my aunt’s place for a mini Hari Raya Haji gathering. And when I reached there the TV was already on the Idol show. Bo pian lor.

The second unexpected thing to happen last Sunday… is really not that unexpected lah. And as I look into my crystal ball, I can predict that most of you will go “Cheyyy!!” after you get to know what actually happened.
